Welcome to Footloose Planet
Your comprehensive resource to plan your trip
or even take a virtual journey through interactive maps.
Helping you plan your trip?
We all like to travel to places we have probably never been before. So, what do we do when planning a trip? Of course, the internet comes to our help and we hit Google or other similar search engine and type “Places to see in Ladakh”, for instance. The results are populated from multiple sites and we click on some or all of them to see if it tickles our fancy. And then move on to the next link for more information on more places to see.
Well, Footloose Planet has already done all this for you by simplifying this whole process. On a single screen the world is divided into regions and landmarks are plotted on an interactive map. Filter your search without leaving the page and design your itinerary. First, choose the region you would like to visit. By default (almost) everything to see in the region is plotted. Then, choose specific categories you might be interested in. For instance if you are interested in Churches in the region, click on “Christian places of worship”, and all other markers will disappear except churches. Click on any of the markers and you will get a brief information about the landmark. Click on the “Learn More” tab to go to a page with a lot more information. If you want to visit that Church, click on the Get Directions tab which will open in Google Maps and voila, you are there. Without ever leaving this one page you can navigate through multiple regions and thousands of landmarks.
Footloose Plant provides you with the convenience you possibly did not have till now and we are sure you will really like to navigate the interactive maps that are developed by tourists, for tourists, keeping what tourists desire from such a platform.
How to navigate Footloose Planet
Does use of the maps cost anything?
Yes, it does. But not because we want to make money. It is because the maps are layered on Google Maps and every time you use the map, we need to pay Google for such usage. If the maps are free, we will actually lose money and that does make business sense. We are essentially tourists and travellers and have faced the problems of visiting a new destination over a limited period of time and spend a lot of time trying to figure out what all we can see in that time. Footloose Planet makes all this easier for you, the tourist.
The cost you pay is just enough to meet our expenses. We are a very small team, constantly working on adding new places of interest. And expanding regions.
And you have the option of buying a Membership for either one day, or 7 days, or 30 days, or 90 days. Obviously, there is a cost benefit to you if you subscribe to a longer Membership.
